Things We Love

Gorgeous Scandinavian Design: The Stokke Tripp Trapp looks great at the table, especially if you choose a color that matches or coordinates with the full size chairs you already own.
Neutral Colors: Black, white, hazy gray, oak, and walnut are all nice on the eye. The other colors are nice too if you prefer a bit of a pop.
Grows with Baby: With the baby set (plastic seat attachment) and tray, the Stokke Tripp Trapp is the perfect ergonomic high chair for those first few months of extremely messy eating. From there, the chair grows with your baby all the way through adulthood! The tray, baby set, and harness straps can be removed completely once your child is old enough, and both the footrest and seat are completely adjustable to accommodate growing kiddos.
Tableside Dining: When your baby gets a bit more coordinated with food, simply remove the tray and slide the chair up to the family dining table.
Easy to Clean (With a Caveat): The chair itself is very easy to clean, without too many nooks and crannies in which food can hide and stick. The tray is another story. (See “Things We Don't Love As Much.”)
Great Resale Value: Parents are always looking to buy used Stokke Tripp Trapps. They are hard to come by, because many parents keep theirs for many years and multiple babies. When you are finished with your Tripp Trapp, sell it! Parents will happily pay $200+ for a used one in good condition.

Things We Don't Love As Much

Difficult-to-Clean Tray: You'll only use the tray for a few months, but man– talk about a design oversight. Although the tray comes off easily and can be washed in a large sink, the underside is a honeycomb pattern with a ton of nooks and crannies where food consistently gets stuck. You’ll definitely want a toothbrush or other small brush sinkside for those first few messy months. Pro tip: If you wash it right away, it's pretty easy to clean, but allow food to harden on there and you'll need some real elbow grease to get it off.

Necessary Accessories

Baby set ($69) – Absolutely necessary for the first few months.
Cushion ($44) – Helps provide a more snug fit for the first few months, but not strictly necessary.
Tray ($49) -Despite its glaring design flaw that makes washing it a pain, using the tray means baby can make a big fat mess without getting food all over your dining table, which is worth it.
