Well made cotton swaddle, material neither too thick nor too thin, just right. There’s a pocket that you slip baby’s feet and legs into and two cloth pieces that wrap around baby’s arms and get tucked under baby’s back; then you fold the right side of swaddle over baby, and wrap the left side around baby twice with the end getting held down behind baby’s back.
For the arm pieces, I find it’s easiest to cross them over each other before placing baby on top, which creates a “sleeve” on each side of baby to slip arms into, rather than trying to awkwardly shove them under baby’s back after setting him/her down. Seems complicated but once you figure it out it’s easy and well worth the effort for a comfy sleeping baby. With the arms wrapped in, baby cant’ escape and stays sleeping.
My baby is 11 lb 5 oz and 22.5 inches long, swaddle still has room for him to grow.
