Featuring the most compact fold among standard strollers (it fits in the trunk of a Mini Cooper!), the Mamas & Papas Flip XT 2 also has an awesome flat recline, great maneuverability, and all-wheel suspension. On the downside, the bassinet is one of the smallest among standard strollers (your baby will likely outgrow it by month three) and the Flip XT 2 is one of the heavier standard strollers among those we prefer.
Things We Love
- Looks Sharp: The Flip XT 2 looks great in all available colors, with some models featuring vegan leather accents.
- Simple, Compact Fold: The Flip XT 2 folds in one simple step into a slim, compact package that will fit into the trunk of a Mini Cooper. This is the slimmest folding full-featured standard stroller available.
- Flat Recline; Adjustable Footrest: The Flip XT 2’s seat reclines flat (no bucket seat!) and has an adjustable footrest for optimal napping position. The flat recline makes this seat suitable for newborns.
- Medium Storage: The Flip XT 2’s storage basket is neither big nor tiny. It will fit a large diaper bag without issue, but will not be able to carry much more.
- Modular: The Flip XT 2 seat easily pops off and flips around to be parent-facing or forward-facing.
- Solid Suspension; Medium-Sized Wheels: The Flip XT 2 has 9 inch and 6.5 inch wheels and all wheel suspension. The Flip XT 2 can handle a bit of off-road bump, but performs best on paved surfaces.
- Most Important Accessories Included: The Flip XT 2 comes with a rain cover and a bumper bar. All other accessories, including the bassinet, car seat adapters, cup holder, and more are sold separately.
- Compatible with the Best Car Seats: The Flip XT 2 is compatible with Chicco, Cybex, Graco, Maxi Cosi, and Nuna car seats with adapters sold separately.
Things We Don't Love As Much
- Medium Weight: Weighing in at 23 pounds, the Flip XT 2 is about 5-10 pounds lighter than full-sized strollers and about 5-7 pounds heavier than travel strollers. It is the heaviest of the Mamas and Papas standard strollers.
- (Smallish) Bassinet Sold Separately: The cozy bassinet is gorgeous and sold separately. Unfortunately, the bassinet is one of the smallest stroller bassinets available, so if you'd like to use the bassinet for longer than 2-3 months, don't buy this stroller.
- Not Convertible to a Double Stroller: The Flip XT 2 is a single stroller and does not convert to a double stroller.
