These days, there are several luxury baby rentals services that'll hook you up with the good stuff, the covetable stuff, the things you maybe caaaan’t quiiiite justify if your baby is only going to be using those things for a few short months. The best part? Instead of buying those pricey items, you can rent them for a fraction of the cost. And these rental services will drop them off at your door. Assembled. And then come to pick them up when baby’s outgrown them. It feels like Christmas morning back before you became Santa.

These are some of the best luxury baby rentals services out there these days.

Loop (San Francisco Bay Area)

Loop's rental selection is the best I've ever seen. They carry just about every big ticket item you might need or want during the first couple years of parenthood, including baby gear, toys, and furniture. Membership is $18/month or $149/year, which gets you free delivery, free pickup, and no minimum on orders. Loop's rental prices are higher than some other services, with the cost to rent usually about half the cost to buy that same item new. Loop has a unique service tailored to the "try before you buy" types though, offering the option to buy any item you love at retail price less whatever you've already paid in rental fees. This means you never pay above retail for something you love, and it makes Loop an excellent resource for trying pricier luxuries before you commit. (Yes this means you could possibly pay retail price for a gently used item, but everything in their rotation is in tip top shape and hasn't taken any more of a beating than you'll give it in the first few weeks anyway.) Loop is currently only available in the San Francisco Bay Area with plans to expand to other major metros soon.

Ottobie (San Francisco Bay Area)

Ottobie is a designer's dream, renting only the most beautiful, most covetable baby products on the market. Specializing in nursery furniture, Ottobie's bassinets, cribs, and dressers are the most beautiful ones out there. They also carry strollers, high chairs, and other smaller items like the Baby Breeza. Depending on your circumstances, their bassinets, rockers, and travel strollers might make great sense for short term rentals. Their crib and dresser rentals, however, are clearly tailored to working urbanites, perhaps in transition between permanent residences or else living in fully furnished company housing. (Or else parents who thought they were going to co-sleep and are now reconsidering?) Since most people use their dressers and cribs for  3+ years, the cost to rent these items likely doesn't make much sense outside these circumstances. Overall, Ottobie's prices are lower than Loop's, but their selection is also significantly more limited. Membership is free, as are all deliveries and pickups.

Rents4Baby (Most Major Metros)

Designed as a travel rental company, Rents4Baby's prices are quite a bit higher than both Loop's and Ottobie's with a slightly less luxury selection. They carry just about anything you might need for a vacation away (including beloved Snoos & DockATots), and they're a great resource for scoring yourself a fancy Doona car seat stroller if you just need one for a short trip but not otherwise. There is no membership, and instead a delivery fee is calculated based on your location's proximity to their warehouses, ranging from free to $85 per delivery. You can rent by the day (3 day minimum) or the month. Rents4Baby is available in many major metropolitan areas and prominent vacation destinations.

Bundl (Los Angeles Area)

Bundl has a limited selection of luxury essentials available for rent. Prices are similar to Loop's with a significantly smaller selection. There is no membership but there is a varying delivery fee of about ~$20. Bundl is available in the Los Angeles area only.

BabyQuip (Most Major Metros)

Decidedly less luxury, BabyQuip is entirely hit or miss. The Airbnb of baby rentals, BabyQuip lets you rent from local moms in your area. Only problem is, the inventory is often more "lime green high chair" and much less "gorgeous Scandinavian bassinet." Plus, their search mechanism is archaic and excruciating. (You search by renter, rather than by item, meaning you can often spend a bunch of time looking for something specific only to find out one renter has one thing you need and another has another thing and yes you'll have to pay two different delivery fees to secure those two items simultaneously. It's odd.) BabyQuip is available in many major metropolitan areas and some smaller towns too.
