The Summer Infant 3D Lite is an inexpensive, lightweight second stroller (or even a totally fine solo stroller for those who prefer to babywear the first six months). It has very few bells or whistles– no bassinet, no car seat compatibility, no super compact fold– but it is only 12 pounds and it's less than $100.
What is my absolute favorite thing about this stroller?
It's very inexpensive (and light).
What else is cool about the Summer Infant 3D Lite?
- Inexpensive but not Cheaply Made: Less than $100, this is a nice, durable stroller that can take a beating on the road or as your primary stroller.
- Looks Good Enough: It’s not the sleekest stroller, and we don’t love the aluminum frame and the contrasting silver canopy, but in black or even in gray, this is a perfectly fine-looking stroller.
- Lightweight and Portable: At 12 pounds, the 3D Lite is less than half the weight of full-sized strollers like the UPPAbaby Vista.
- Decent Recline: The 3D Lite reclines and is comfortable enough for a nap.
- Decent Storage Space: For an umbrella stroller, the 3D Lite has a decent amount of under-stroller storage.
- Large-ish Small Wheels; All Wheel Suspension: Featuring double 6-inch wheels and all wheel suspension, the 3D Lite rolls remarkably smoothly for such a tiny stroller.
What don't I love about the Summer Infant 3D Lite?
- Not for Infants (No Bassinet, No Car Seat Compatibility): This stroller is not compatible with a bassinet or any car seats, and is therefore only suitable for babies six months and up.
- No Adjustable Footrest: It does not have an adjustable footrest.
- So/So Easy, Umbrella Fold: The 3D Lite folds in three simple-enough steps. A typical umbrella stroller, the folded package is long and somewhat bulky. This stroller does not fit into the overhead bin of airplanes.
- Not Modular: The 3D Lite is forward-facing only and does not have a parent-facing option. This is standard for umbrella strollers.
- Not Convertible to a Double Stroller; No Board for Older Children: The 3D Lite does not convert to a double stroller and does not have a ride along board for older children.
- No Accessories Included: The 3D Lite does not come with accessories.
Summer Infant 3D Lite Alternatives
- If you want a travel stroller that folds more compactly (and fits into airplane overhead bins)… the Bugaboo Ant, Babyzen YOYO+, or the Zoe Traveler are all awesome strollers, but also at least twice the price.
- If you want a slightly nicer umbrella stroller that still won't break the bank… the Joovy Groove Ultralight is very similar to the 3D Lite, but has an adjustable footrest, a deeper recline, and a slightly more upscale look.
